Community Ties with Cailleach Books and Adroit Press

Barlow House, Droichead Arts Centre
Friday, 18th September 2026

In a time where housing is scarce and affordable community spaces are difficult to find, the ability to make our own commons becomes even more important.

As part of Night Moves Culture Night Late 2026, Adroit Press in collaboration with Cailleach Books presents an evening that celebrates the commons at Barlow House! A special iteration of Cailleach Books will be open for local residents, activists and artists to drop-in, have a cup of tea, chat and browse a selection of DIY publications in a self-assembled bookshop. In this space, we will be hosting a participatory workshop that teaches you how to tie basic knots and lashings used in building shelter and setting up impromptu events.

Drop in from 7.30pm until late to explore Cailleach Books and take part in our knotmaking session with Adroit Press. Tea and snacks will be provided throughout the evening.
