AFIELD by David Donohue
AFIELD by David Donohue
Afield is an open performance format devised by David Donohoe, with which to present field recordings/ spoken texts/ live instrumentation as an ongoing concern. Attending an Afield performance by David at MoLI, The Museum of Literature Ireland, in April 2026 the publisher was struck by the clarity and beauty of the spoken texts, and quickly transposed these into typographic form accompanied by photographs taken by David during various field recording trips.
David Donohoe is a composer, recordist, artist, live performer and improviser. He works at the intersection of instrumentation, synthesis, field-recording and processing. His performance practice involves scored works, electroacoustic presentation and solo/collaborative improvisation.
