Luke Allan's poems appear diminutive and delicate. But like other minimal constructions—a spider's web; a triangle—once we enter into their logic we see how each part has a function, part of which is beauty. These poems give the reader warmth, friendship, love, and connection both textual and human in small and crystalline forms.

MIEL was established in 2011 to publish difficult, innovative, intelligent, and deeply felt writing and artwork, with a focus on work made by women, people of color, and LGBTQ people.
