What Noise on Earth? is a book of visual poetry from Drogheda poet, Susan Connolly. Its title comes from a Breton carol. Some poems take a Christmas carol as their starting point, poems such as Gaudete, Gloria and Balulalow. Another focuses on the tradition in Irish Folklore of placing a lighted candle in the window of a house on Christmas Eve. The Viaduct over the river Boyne features and also the Maiden Tower at Mornington. There is a poem about Francis Ledwidge, the poet from Slane, Co. Meath, sometimes called 'the poet of the blackbirds'.
